Inspiration can come from many varied and wonderful sources: the decline of the moustache, for example, or the first international golf tournament to be held in North Korea. Or maybe grannies in Nairobi learning kung-fu for self defence.
These narratives sound like fiction, entertainment, amusement… but these are the stories of development and progress, examples of the ‘common humanity’ valued by the One World Media organisation and it’s student bursary winners.
As many people as possible should see these films; it’s not often you get the chance to see the world through fresh, creative eyes. Clips from all of One World Media’s 2011 films can be found here, and below is my favourite video in full, The Changing Face Of India by William Hartley.
